The work

Reynoldsburg rewrote its zoning code in 2018 to cut red tape and make development quicker and cheaper. Under the new code, new development needs only one planning commission meeting.

The results

In 2021 Columbus Business First reported that Reynoldsburg was seeing gains after taking charge of development, including two downtown mixed-use redevelopment projects and the city's first new housing subdivision in two decades. City officials credited the zoning rewrite as part of the city's new approach.
