The work
Southold sits on Long Island's North Fork. As in all of ZoneCo's coastal work, the code has to protect the character that makes the place valuable while managing the change the water is forcing anyway.
Timeline
The town kicked off the revamp of its zoning code in November 2022. Residents packed zoning meetings in 2024, and the town released the long-awaited zoning update draft in March 2025. The East End Beacon covered each step.
